Children’s workshop: sculpting in soapstone
From 8 years onwards
We would all like our children to be introduced to art and culture – wouldn’t we? Come to the Oldambt in Groningen and see that sculpting is a unique way for them to experience this personally. During this sculpting workshop we will knead and shape the soft soapstone.
At 14.00 we will welcome the children with a glass of lemonade. Then they will sand, plane and rasp the easily workable soapstone. At 15.00 we will take a break and enjoy some ice cream. Around 16.00 we will be finished sculpting and close the day with fries, applesauce and a sausage. At 17.00 all children will proudly return home with a beautiful sculpture.
Hans and Ellis Nipshagen are pedagogically and didactically trained and experienced. Your children are in good hands and will be well taken care of before, during and after the sculpting workshop. An afternoon full of creative fun is guaranteed!
Annemarie, 11 years old, writes to us:
“We all made a medallion. This is a stone on a necklace. We spent an hour and a half working on it! We used quite a lot of material, I thought. I would like to do it again sometime. The stone which we used was softer than other stones. I think I made a beautiful sculpture. When we were done sculpting we ate fries. Everyone enjoyed it very much.”
